Sasha is a female, purebred mountain cur believed to be approximately 3-4 years old. She was found during a hunting trip on the Cumberland Plateau, lost and seriously malnourished. Currently, she is still quite underweight but she's in otherwise good health, and is slowly gaining her weight back. She appears to have had puppies in the past but is now apparently spayed. Sasha is friendly, affectionate, and gets along well with people and other dogs. She is not recommended for a household with cats. She is very protective and makes an excellent watchdog. She is crate-trained and is making good progress in housetraining. She is mischievous and will try to see what she can get away with, but she responds well to firm, consistent discipline. She is very active, like most smaller dogs, and becomes restless and bored when left by herself. Those are the times when she will tend to get into mischief. She is a hunting breed and loves to look for squirrels, rabbits, etc., but is very gun shy. A hunter wanting to adopt her as a hunting partner would be gaining a good hunting dog but would need to spend some time desensitizing her to loud noises, etc. Sasha needs a good home where she is part of a family and can interact with people, other dogs, etc. She is very socially oriented and would not be happy kept by herself in a pen in a backyard.
